The Test of Moses

Did He Hear Correctly

Have you ever took the time to consider how Moses must have felt while fulfilling his purpose? In those days, they were human just like those of today even though they’ve been made to sound like superhero’s flawed and challenged. Moses stutter did not affect his hearing. However, based on the response he received from Pharaoh; you would wonder if he heard God Correctly. Would you say that Moses heard God correctly; is what most traveling with him might have wondered? Moses are you sure God told you to tell Pharaoh that; he continues to reject you. Why would God send Moses with a message knowing he will be turned away. What was the purpose in this? Could it have been a test of Moses faith and ability to follow instructions? A time of testing and building his faith before he gets to the promise land. To keep going back and not getting a result; with hopes that eventually Pharaoh will respond.

The Faith Test

Multiple times Moses went to Pharaoh as he heard God and was turned away. Could you imagine how he must have felt going back and forth? Have you ever been there? You prayed or read the word and knew that you heard God speak or give an instruction and the results you received did not match with what you heard. The embarrassment, humiliation and questions that may have plagued his mind. Could it be that Moses was being tested in the areas of faith and his ability to follow instructions? He had to believe that Pharaoh would comply and that a solution to cross the Red Sea was there even if he couldn’t see it. Have you ever faced something and you just had to keep going until the perfect time caught up with your persistence?

Learning The Lesson

The lesson in persistence and the faith it takes to believe in an outcome you can’t see is sometimes a part of the process. Was it really about Pharaoh,; or Moses’s ability to follow instructions and have faith in what he was hearing from God. How many times have you found yourself doing something that made absolutely no sense but you kept at it. Even if you got results, something bigger than you was taking place. You were being prepped for a greater assignment. Moses, even though Pharaoh will reject you several times, go and tell him to release the people. You then find yourself facing a red see and all you have is an instruction from God; you have no choice but to believe and how much you believe will determine how your used.

From A Spiritual Standpoint:

There may be times where you’ve questioned whether you heard correctly based on the outcome, yet you persevered. Could the delay be a part of the process in order to build certain characteristics in you for what’s ahead? Could it be for the purpose of training you to know his voice and follow instructions? Like Moses you may have had situations that brought the best out of you while going through a process you didn’t quite understand.

Heavenly Father we don’t always understand the resistance and delays that comes along with our assignment. Let your voice be louder than every other voice. We trust that any obstacles , resistance, or delays are being used for your divine purpose. Every situation is an opportunity for growth, extension of faith, and test of character. Thank you for wisdom along the journey.
