The Memo

You didn’t get the memo? Have you noticed my changes or that I’m not that person anymore? There will be times when you’ve changed but those around you don’t see it because they didn’t get the memo.

You’ve Changed

You’ve changed and it took reflection, courage, and belief in yourself. You overcame obstacles, stagnation, and mental barriers. Think of the willpower needed to not double back. You may have had some level of support, but at the end of the day, you took the first step. You looked the event, trauma, defeat, abuser, or oppressing thoughts in the face and changed. You found the strength to LET IT GO! You did it, no one else. You have to be proud of yourself; the decidedness to embrace another path. You may never forget what you went through but you broke the hold it had over you. The freedom of truth and how it sets you free.

The Memo is a Notice of Change

You’ve reconstructed the parts of you or your life to align with the changes you’ve made. Time may have passed and the memo is out; sending the message that you can no longer be located in yesterday. You’re approaching life differently; you’ve mastered the areas and found resolve in the things that no longer serve you. Learning the lessons from yesterday will cause you to see things differently. Your letter of change notifies family, friends, and others that you choose to be addressed by the new changes of the present.

Then Release me From Your Yesterday

You’ve changed; you no longer babysit the wounds of your yesterday. You’ve rebuilt the foundations and feel secure within yourself. Your actions support your changes. You’ve released yesterday but yesterday hasn’t released you. Those around you still talk to you, treat you, and respond to you from the places you healed. As you move forward to discover and embrace the change; you feel the pull of those who didn’t get the memo. They still address you as an unhealthy event, past trauma, defeat, the abused, or oppressed when you’ve changed. What do you do when certain individuals keep you in yesterday while you’re trying to live healthy and whole today? It’s like a gravitational pull backward after all the work you put in. When do they take notice and release you?

From a Spiritual Standpoint: What happens when you’ve changed and those that knew you are still labeling you from the past. They continue to speak to you from the old season when you’re currently in your new season. You try to forget but they are faithful in reminding you. When do they release you from your yesterday? Even in the word Abram became Abraham, Sarai became Sarah, Simon became Peter and Jacob became Israel. What they were once called, they no longer answered to and you shouldn’t have to answer to your previous self either.

Let’s Pray: Heavenly Father thank you for the wisdom and confidence to change. To heal and overcome the hurts and wounds of yesterday. You allowed me to see myself beyond the things that were holding me back. I am a new creature in Christ and seeing things anew. It doesn’t matter what they call me but what I answer to. I answer when they call me healed, I answer when they call me delivered and I answer when they call me blessed because I’ve been renamed. Thank you for your divine strength to see me the way you do. I have always been beautifully and wonderfully made.
