Exploring the timeline of Caleb’s journey into the Promiseland is clear and faithful. Follow his journey and reflect on where you are within your journey. Moses has been the main focus of the Promiseland and how he missed it but you never hear much about those who made it like Caleb. Caleb made it in the Promiseland and received the fruit of his labor.
Caleb Chosen Among Twelve
A Man was faithful in his beliefs, delivered out of bondage, and set on a journey that would change the course of his history forever. Like you, God made promises of abundance, territory, and land; but it would require his participation. Caleb was predestined by God and chosen by Moses among the twelve; chosen and set apart for a journey predesigned for a divine purpose. Caleb was given the vision and everything he needed to succeed. He accepted the journey with confidence and faith. He explored the land and saw that it was promising while others saw no hope. Is it possible for many to look at the same thing and see it differently? While Caleb saw possibilities the others saw defeat.
Set Apart
Disagreement isn’t always a bad thing. Setting out to walk a path with a smaller circle may be all you need. Caleb made up his mind, silenced the voices, and took a firm stand to fulfill his God-given plan. His ability to change the way he saw the evidence and obstacles before him, set him apart from those who saw defeat. Coming from the Tribe of Judah, praise was no stranger to him. His faith in God was a weapon to victory over the Canaanites. Others ignored him and threatened him for his courage to fulfill the mandate on his life which would lead to his inheritance. How do you respond when God deems you distinctive in spirit and in heart?
A PromisedLand
God gave him the promise and ownership of the land but he was required to participate in the taking. A land flowing with milk and honey birthed out of extreme assurance and faith in God. Although Caleb entered the land that doesn’t mean the battles were over. It’s possible to be in the center of your promise while battling your biggest fight. As the years passed Caleb was stronger, wiser, and able to sustain himself. Because of Caleb’s belief, faith, and willingness to see his journey the way God did, he lived to fulfill his purpose. Generations were blessed, territories conquered, enemies defeated, all because he dared to believe and be set apart for a season.
From a Spiritual Standpoint:
How can you relate to Caleb’s journey? You probably hear how Moses saw the Promiseland and would never enter. That doesn’t have to be your story. Caleb was faithful, believed in God unconditionally, and allowed God to lead him. He dared to see what others could not see; his inheritance for the taking. Though the facts remained, he also knew that believing in God would change the facts. Faith is not void of evidence, it changes the narrative in your favor. All it takes is two out of twelve in agreement for what looked impossible for the majority. He was ignored and threatened, yet he trusted in God.
Let’s Pray:
Heavenly Father, history tells us about the brave men and women who took the journey before us. Each had their own unique outcome and you didn’t handle every circumstance the same way. What worked or didn’t work for one was not the same for another. I pray today like Caleb we will enjoy the fruit of our labor, receive our inheritance, and that of generations to follow. That we will remain free of concerns, and embrace faith, trust, and confidence in a snapshot of possibilities. Let no weapons form against us prosper and give us victory over our enemies. I believe like Caleb, if we can see it, believe it, move in faith, and allow the loudest voice in our ear to be yours; victory is inevitable.
By Faith!
